What 10 MFT songs would you have in your iPod if stuck on an Island?

Ok, how about a little game here. What ten songs from MFT would you want if you were stuck on a island, in the middle of the ocean, with no hope of rescue but still equipped with a fully charged iPod that strangely only contains 10 songs? I will post mine here shortly with links for listening pleasure. What would yours be?
You can select them from the list of bands in the archive-

Pocket - Brown Betty
Wallpaper - Antenna
Ding Dong, the Liberty Horse - Sardina
Slow Motion - Heidi Gluck
Lauren - Pieces
Muff Diving at Wilkie South - Gizmos
the Hard Way - America Owns the Moon
Let's Go Steady - Dow Jones
Summer Dresses - Gentleman Caller
Rules of the Hole - Modern Vending
Situation Hopeless - Walking Ruins
"It's Palm Sunday, all the kids have palms..." <--wtf that song is called - Pencil

That's just the first 10 that come to mind. On another day, on another island, on another ipod, I might choose a different ten.

Not necessarily in rank order:
Pocket by Brown Betty
Lip by Brown Betty
Can't Find London by Steve Kowalski's Army
Perfect by Steve Kowalski's Army
Mean Screen by The Gizmos
Rock 'n Roll Don't come from New York by The Gizmos
Vicious Circle Side 1 by Zero Boys
Vicious Circle Side 2 by Zero Boys
(Those are each one track as they appear in the archive)
I wanna kill my mom by the Panics
Drugs are for Thugs by the Panics
I could live with that play list for quite a while

He was bland and ready
Always rockin' steady on the ride
'Til I erased his name
And loved his ugly body through the night.

Sardina- Jealous Frog (nothing against the studio tracks but this live recording gave me chills before LP passed and just slays me now. His voice is so fragile and powerful. This may be his best song).

Uvula - D-E-M-O-N-S (before I saw the track title for this song I thought they were singing "You'll never get rid of your D-E-M-O-S".")

The Vegetables- I Dig The Scenery (If this Bloomington band had been transported back in time they could have been one of the best psych bands of the 1960s).

The Sheds- All You Need (love this song, can't ever hear it enough. Chris' voice is perfect)

Winechuggers- Long Circuitous Path (ok, I did record this track but I still love it)

America Owns the Moon - Blackshines ("as you stand impaled on your spine and space and time, space and time appear evil!")

Winechuggers - Ringing a Bell ("once you sing a song you can't unsing it.")

Archer Avenue - Open Your Eyes (first song I ever heard Richard sing- he was probably 17 or something. soaking wet from a flash flood - still think it's one of the most perfectly written songs)

Brando - Hold Me Mine and You Should Know Better (I'm not choosing- they both make me feel that good kind of full-hearted sadness you feel when you look at a large body of water or something- maybe it's insignificance. thanks a lot derek.)

Chris Kupersmith - In the Winter ("the after light is just a glimmer...")

Intro to Airlift - Ed is on no Side ("I met a girl in Philly last night... I couldn't look her in the eye. She made me think twice. Who am I?")

None of my favorite Marmoset songs are on here!! Well, I'm taking Walking Thru the Lake anyway.

Sardina - Antelopes ("...taking off his head, and inside his head is a letter that says 'I love you'")

The Sheds - Reflections of the Sun (this song is like a fucking self-help religion, and I'm signing up. I would join this cult.)

Jeb, I used to think that Uvula song was "you'll never get rid of your D-E-M-O-S" too! Which I thought was genius because everyone was recording plenty of them in those days.)

great list Kenny! I totally agree with all of them.
I think you will enjoy the backwards version of Blackshines that we are working on with AOTM for their new album- which is pretty awesome btw.

Thanks JB- can't wait to hear the new AOTM record. What a great band. I remember the first time I saw them was at Radio Radio and they scared the shit out of me. I hadn't had that kind of a feeling since probably 1993 or something. Do the teenagers like AOTM? They should.

Also, when I look at my list again, I'm noticing it's mostly the sad songs I couldn't live without. I probably should communicate the results of this exercise to my therapist.

I've been thinking about this for over a week. This is way too hard. There is just way too much good music in & from Indiana to choose from. United States Three, Vulgar Boatmen, Mysteries of Life, LoveMeKnots, El Nino, Sardina, John Strohm's stuff, the Academy, Fabric, MaryJanes...... The hits just keep coming..... I'll keep pondering.....

the idea is to make a list of songs by bands on this site. Sadly we do not have any of these bands on MFT since they are not from Indiana.

This is Mars Needs Women's, first band name. We got our flyers torn down Kirkwood by some Jaycee guy I remember, wearing his little red vest.

I'm all for MFT and the artists both making some money whether it's NP or not. I'm glad there is another way of getting us out there. If I would have sold an album in the 80s, I remember most little labels and artists would be happy to sell their t…

PJ- I thought of that too! I could use a new Ping hat. We aren't too far down the road of the NP thing to turn back. But John is right, if we can find a way to funnel money to artists then I'm all about having MFT make some of that transaction. It…

I tried to watch 100 Ways but I could feel my life force draining. Haven't the Japanese made some horror films about this video?
