Reunion '08?

Well there have already been 2 events(06' & 07'). I hung out with some of the people for a while after the Harmony event. (Mike Goss, Kate etc after the first one) It would be fun to have some other stuff going on later (and have a few beers etc) but I don't know how it would be arranged and what-not(or who would takecareof logistics). As far as a street dance I don't even know any of the current B-town bands that we might like. Well Walking Ruins if they wanted to play. I think I mentioned to Burd at some point it would be cool if we could get someone to play at Harmony in the gym. At one point(before the first reunion) I thought Peace Dykes reunion but Johnny is dead and Josh is probably skinning an animal somewhere in the woods.And I don't think anyone could stand me solo for more than 10 minutes. I did think maybe some cool games for the kids with some prizes would be neat also maybe some freebies togive away (I could do some shirts or something) pins, keychains, reunion beerhats? Something corny. Hopefully we'll be able toget the RFNR movie. I guess it's very long(haven't seen it since the early 90's) but maybe it could be edited for the more interesting parts due to length. It would be cool ifyou came over Noah, would love to meet your kid. : )

Mine has been in November-Saturday after Thanksgiving. I don't know how long Noah can be away from the business-we could all crash the Official Harmony Reunion-although, my kids go there so they probably won't kick me out anyhow. Or there could be something elsewhere ---Rhinos? This is going to be a busy year - I've got the Brits coming in June-Kate is gonna be here then and John Matthew too. I may be too exhausted by November. Molly has expressed interest in coming this year with Dave-we may be able to whip up a frenzy here and get things going.

Yeah I've got a couple weeks at best. I'll be in town anyway and making the rounds so I'm sure I'll see all the B-ton folks who still live there. With so many already coming to town anyway seemed like a good excuse to build a MEGA REUNION and a double excuse for folks like Jay Walters and Jesse Keith to get off their asses and come on out.

I haven't even been to Bloomington in so long I have no idea where such a thing might take place. Rhinos? Harmony Gym? How bout 4th Street and Fu*kin' LOUD!!

I do know it could be done fairly easily in the evening without conflict, and even "harmoniously" with the Harmony School event.

Once again, just a thought, and a selfish one at that as that's the time that I'll be there anyway.

I think this would a great thing for MFT to get behind. I'm thinking maybe the Bluebird? We would need some time to plan and make it right. So perhaps November around Thanksgiving like Burd mentioned? That's a good time to get people together since they are already travellng.

I'm cool with the Bird as a parallel event-in conjunction with. I would like to keep mine "Family Friendly" - I'm not a big bar person anymore but it would be awesome to get another reunion show with the Pitbulls, Ruins, Chiba etc...Lunch and then the Bird later on...waddya think?

sounds good but I wonder if maybe this needs to be opened to the whole community for discussion. I'm going to share this thread with some people in hopes that we can get some ideas flowing.

Thanksgiving would be my 8 year anniversary nearly to the day. Eight long years of no brunch at the Uptown. I'm assuming it's still good (heard Ladymans got forced out while developing that block. deep sigh). Unfortunately it's probably no dice for me.

I'll be happy if you guys get it together anyway, it needs to be done... I'm sure I'll see the video on youtube and maybe if I get lucky Zac will send me a t-shirt and beerhat(!?).

If I'm still around, I'll definitely make the trip down for that. I'm usually up for whatever...

I was actually at the MFT showcase at Locals Only last year, but I only talked to a couple of people because if memory serves me correctly, it was during the MMS and I had another show to go to.

Right now, I'm planning on moving (most likely back to California) sometime around mid Nov, but it may get pushed back 'til after the holidays....

Where is the info for the Harmony event, i.e. date and time and location. While I am merely an interested party and not a direct participant, the idea of doing the Scene Reunion on the same day makes an awful lot of sense to me. I can just see opening up Rhinos at 7 pm, letting people mingle for an hour and then having the Wurst - Blood Farmers reunion, with Rev. Malice and Scott Colburn dancing in go go cages....God, could we hire the Zero Boys? Of course Johnny ESAD would stumble through a version of "My Way" a la Sid Vicious, and then we could hold up lighters while flasing pictures of Those No Longer With Us on an overhead projector. Trash the dressing room a la Harold and Alice, have Y-Bark throw up on the speakers shorting out the sound system, and then have a march protesting the war and uncool people and the skateboard ban and smoke clove cigs one last time and then freak out from the X and start crying and hug each other and then punch somebody in the face and run from the cops and forget to grab the drum kit and then crash under a bench in People's Park and wake up at dawn. Who's with me?
