About Me
Well lets see,How did a English punk rocker end up spending his summers in Bloomington Indiana in the late 80`s & early 90`s? A good friend (Simon Davies) of mine who had parents living in Bloomington asked me at one English punk show if i would fancy a trip to the good old USA...i said OK!! It was that easy! Anyway for around 5-6 year period i had a month vacation in good old Bloomington. I also brought on most trips my trusty sidekick "Humph" & together we met some real cool people & made allot of friends. Anyway we liked our beer & we liked our punk rock,so it was easy to relate to people in one form or another!
Thanx to myspace(Burd),after all these years i am back on the scene with some "old school" pictures...Well the ones that Burd & Kate have not used off me!
June 2008 saw me,Humph & Claire(first time visit!) do a long overdue visit to Bloomington/Indianapolis & Louisville & i would like to thank everyone for making the trip so special. Sadly Humph ran out on everyone & let himself down as much as everyone who came to see him & i apologize to everyone who were let down. He was the one who missed out in the end!!
Check out my myspace page for some old school punk pictures.
Oh & did i forget,I am a big Leeds United fan (English soccer/football team)
In 2009,me & Claire will be back with a visit to San Francisco in June to visit Kate already booked & a Thanksgiving visit for Bloomington/Indianapolis & Louisville about to be booked. See all you wonderfull people then!
What bands are you or have you been in?
I very neally ended up the singer for Doom, better for them i didn`t!
What city are you from?
Walsall

#3....WHY BLOOMINGTON ? (1987 & from a country far,far away,they made their plans to visit...)

1987
As the week soon rolled by,things became a tighter squeeze in Simon`s tight bedsit room as he was putting up the Australians again. To relieve some space,we all headed down to Hampton Court which is a Stately Home on Simon`s doorstep with plenty of park land to goof around & play football (Soccer). Just for fun,we played football with a rugby ball which more or less the same as a American grid iron football. Around this time,Simon asked if me or Karl had ever even been to the Uni… Continue

#2....WHY BLOOMINGTON ? (1987 & a trip to the Big Smoke !)

1987
As we moved into & through 1987,me & Karl`s friendship grew with Simon. The Birmingham Punk scene was moving almost as much as London`s,although we only had one real good venue called the "Mermaid Pub" which was in the Sparkhill side of town. This venue to this day is still the coolest Birmingham has ever had for Punk shows until it got damaged by fire in the early 90`s......

#1....WHY BLOOMINGTON ? (1986 & the first crossing of paths with Simon Trolley)

1986
I had reached a period in my life where i needed something different in my life. The 80`s was a VERY violent period of time in British social behaviour. English Soccer games had a major hooligan problem & it was just about showing up everywhere else also. It was a period where you just did not go to a Punk show without seeing at least one fight break out ! For anyone who has seen the racial fighting at the start of the CLASH film "RUDE BOY",that was filmed in my area in Digbeth B… Continue

A search for a Brits "Desert Island Disks".

Hey,i`m about to make history now & do my first ever blog posting....EVER !!!!. Anyway after a VERY long shift through my record collection ive finally come up with my very own "Desert Island Disks". Oh "Desert Island Disks" was/is a BBC Radio 4 show where various known people would talk about records they would be happy to be stuck on a deserted island with. They never mentioned if they would have a record player/power supply to play these records or how they would keep their precious vinyl… Continue

This group, named for its spiritual founders is to discuss the ephemera of Hoosier folklore. The entire historical, musical, cultural, and folkloric expanse of the Hoosier state is our stomping ground here.
