I'm a drummer for Hitchhike, and a User Interface Designer/Usability Consultant. I live in Louisville, KY, the whiskey-swilling, bluegrass-lovin' former home of Muhammad Ali and Hunter S. Thomson. I went to Ball State University from 1983 - 1986, where I met my now-husband and Hitchhike band-mate, Kyle Barnett. Before marrying Kyle, my name was Lisa Peterson. I majored in graphic design at BSU and enjoyed many a show at the No Bar.
What bands are you or have you been in?
SIWA (Austin, TX), Hitchhike (Austin, TX and Louisville, KY)
Oh I remember when I went back a couple years ago North side Jr. High looked sooo small. Oh and my old house...it was for sale. The bank owned it because some single guy defaulted. It needed some serious TLC.
It was so great to see you looking so fab at the Boatmen show. If you and Kyle come thru Indy again please let me know so we can get together and talk.
I really have no idea whether anyone is doing a 25th or not. I know that on classmates.com Betsy Broadbent (delks) is listed as the organizer or contact person for reunion stuff. But seriously...we don't live that far apart anyway so maybe we can get together on our own.
HOLY CRAP!!!...Wow it's great to hear from you Lisa and you look great too! I have to tell you that the welcome Ive received here sure is a lot different to the one I got a couple years ago when I went north to the motherland.
I don't want to make it sound like people were mean or anything they weren't, but they sure were far more conservative and tight-lipped than i was expecting. I ended up at a party at Melinda Minzies with people you would find all too familiar. I'm glad I went and it was great to see them but it really made me reflect on the difference in the friends we make due to our parents location or sports and those we make on our souls.
Other then Greg Leach, I haven't a peep from any of them since.
Slim and Ralph don't travel well, but I will ask them if they are interested. The cool thing about TTFOTM is you always know when we are playing, If you can't make it one month you already know when the next show is.
I discovered music via my parents collection, as many kids do. First up were Elvis and The Beatles. I played these records to death. "Lucy In
The Sky With Diamonds" was the most amazing thing my 7 year old mind
could imagine- I couldn't understand…

This group, named for its spiritual founders is to discuss the ephemera of Hoosier folklore. The entire historical, musical, cultural, and folkloric expanse of the Hoosier state is our stomping ground here.
I like the Zine idea- online or print. Obviously there are serious hurdles to the print version. My focus right now, with changes to the site, are mostly focused on things we can do, programming/design wise, that will enable bands and members to spr…
Online zine that turns into a publicated zine.. With a link to the mix-tape of the month. There is so much music on here, it has to be somehow highlighted.
