Lowercase m - Anthology

is now up on MFT.

Lowercase m performed and recorded around Indianapolis throughout the mid 1990s. Their harmonious vocal sound and acoustic instrumentation delighted singer/songwriter fans throughout the area. Their folksy style augmented the alternative cover songs they interpreted, as well as their own catchy originals. They often performed at The Outback, The Patio, and Cafe Angst, and were monthly regulars at the Village Idiot, as well as performing live on local radio several times.

Awesome! Thanks so much Matt for getting these bands on the site, really filled some big holes from the 1990s Indy scene.

About Me
I make compositions using any instrument I can get my hands on, samples and found sounds. I love creating film scores, bits of interesting noises, sound collages, techno, pop, punk, jazz, rock, classical and folk music, etc.

I have also produced many bands & artists over my career as a musician. I currently operate a recording studio out of the Stutz Building in downtown Indy.

Fact is, I just love sounds. Even if they’re not organized, or actual songs, or even pleasant. I like the contrast of textures, the impact of dynamics, the sweetness of melody and the vibrational math of harmonies. I like to break sounds down and reconstruct them into something new.

And you, darlin. My bf is not the sentimental type, and doesn't see why this fucks with me so hard - but it does, and tomorrow's hugfest (a more appropriate word considering this is LP we're talking about, yes?) will be oh SO comforting.

I need to write a blog totally marginalizing vinyl. I'll get to work on that ;) Seriously, good piece. I need to find my way back to vinyl - I need to convince my wife to let me set up the turntable in the living room again.

My family still had 78's and a record player that would play 'em when I grew up in the '50's. My father had big band, Beethoven, country, all kind of things. My mother worked at the RCA plant that made records in Indianapolis, when she left to have…

I've had a vinyl influence since I was alive. I am grateful my father had a record player and that he would actually use it. I think there is something unique in a medium that takes so much to slow down and truly appreciate it for what it's worth. W…

I know, I'm on some sort of nostalgia trip these days while running a Web agency. Everything balances out. That's kinda my point. As we go further into the digital realm we have the increased need for a tactile experience.
