I was a born cynic!

DA was actually my favorite Mahern project. I saw them just about everytime they were in Btown.

I was super into Paisley Underground at this point as well, and I saw this as completely consistent with that scene - Rain Parade, Dream Syndicate, Opal, 3 O'Clock - the best of the 80s 60s.

It's so quintessentially 80s 60s, though. Also Paul was SUCH a hero to me at this point that I thought everything he did was 110% cool. Paul was, simply, THE dude.

Haha! I love the Mike Sheets-ness of the small guitar, the boots and all, especially juxtaposed with the Gibson Ripper bass, and that fat, gnarly sound. That l'il guitar sounds great, too! If you're going to make comments on questionable attire, I…

Well, then, Kurt, guess I'd better be prepared for some tiny little cuban heel prints and pointy toe prints on my torso. I think what offended me back in the day about the second guitar was the actual guitar - not sufficiently bad-ass like the other…

I completely agree the rhythm section is masterful!! The changes are wild and very tight. Amazing shit!

Them boots er made fer walkin' John Strohm, n' one-a these days thur a-gonna walk all over YOU.

About Me
I used to be a independent promoter and band manager.
I now spin vinyl records with the "We Spin for Tips" DJ's.
I tried to promote again for a minute in this decade, but rediscovered that it's just not worth it.
What bands are you or have you been in?
the Deadbeats w/Dave D'Eath, Captain Steele, Johnny Quest, Tim Christ
E-In-Brino w/Paul Mahern, Bam Bam, Spliff, Joy
Dave Jr. says I played in the Primates once, but I don't remember that!

Does anti-percussion count as an instrument?
What city are you from?

Chris Cruzan is organizing a tribute/memorial for Lumpy in Indianapolis at Birdy's. I will keep all posted here, as soon as I have more info. If you have a band that wants to play, leave me your info and I'll forward it to Chris. Once

Indy Rocks? Could Indianapolis support an all music news publication?

INDY ROCKS MAGAZINE...

Myth #1: They predicted the DEATH of vinyl record albums!
Myth #2: They predicted the DEATH of the independent record store!
Myth #3: They predicted the DEATH of the rock band!
Myth #4: They predicted the DEATH of the rock club, that supports original music!
Myth #5: They predicted the DEATH of music related print media!

Indianapolis still possesses all of the above, with the exception of Myth # 5, which in my thirty year involvement in the music scene here, we have neve… Continue

Copy and paste review of "Red Snerts" from New York Rocker 1981 for P.J. and link to ebay auction!

http://tinyurl.com/cvbmxz "I even figured out this tiny url"
So which would you rather be: unknown or "immortalized" by Breaking Away? If the 16 bands on the Red Snerts (anagram: Rent Dress, get it?) sometimes seem a little too foot-shufflin' unassuming - and they do - it's at least not hard to figure why. The Gizmos sing "The Midwest Can Be Allright" (but not too often, I guess, or they wouldn't've moved to NJ). The liner notes solicit correspondence with the query: "Like those bands? Maybe one… Continue

I'm all for MFT and the artists both making some money whether it's NP or not. I'm glad there is another way of getting us out there. If I would have sold an album in the 80s, I remember most little labels and artists would be happy to sell their t…

PJ- I thought of that too! I could use a new Ping hat. We aren't too far down the road of the NP thing to turn back. But John is right, if we can find a way to funnel money to artists then I'm all about having MFT make some of that transaction. It…
