I was a born cynic!

I did watch the WHO, and thought it was pretty good. Zach Starkey did a good job, but was not quite the smasher that Moon was.

Yea, that whole football link with local music scenes threw me for a loop. I had no idea what the purpose of it was. I guess it gave Russel and the Mudkids some national exposure, but just is not in my gamebook (pun intended).

btw, how is this a mixtape, when it has nothing to do with being on tape?

Oh, snap! I figured it was some techie thingie. I have no idea how to do that! Everything I would want on a mixtape, is on vinyl!

Dang cool! Where do I send the cassette to?

What are you nominating me for Mikebark? I lost the focus of this blog, after I saw all the fuss over the Mudkids tune.

Good blog, Jeb. It re-emphasizes some points I made in my last blog here @MFT. http://tinyurl.com/yjlyb9j I buy books and actually read them! I buy vinyl records and actually listen to them! I read the occasional music mag, and actually read NUVO an…

Indy Rocks? Could Indianapolis support an all music news publication?

INDY ROCKS MAGAZINE...

Myth #1: They predicted the DEATH of vinyl record albums!
Myth #2: They predicted the DEATH of the independent record store!
Myth #3: They predicted the DEATH of the rock band!
Myth #4: They predicted the DEATH of the rock club, that supports original music!
Myth #5: They predicted the DEATH of music related print media!

Indianapolis still possesses all of the above, with the exception of Myth # 5, which in my thirty year involvement in the music scene here, we have neve… Continue

Copy and paste review of "Red Snerts" from New York Rocker 1981 for P.J. and link to ebay auction!

http://tinyurl.com/cvbmxz "I even figured out this tiny url"
So which would you rather be: unknown or "immortalized" by Breaking Away? If the 16 bands on the Red Snerts (anagram: Rent Dress, get it?) sometimes seem a little too foot-shufflin' unassuming - and they do - it's at least not hard to figure why. The Gizmos sing "The Midwest Can Be Allright" (but not too often, I guess, or they wouldn't've moved to NJ). The liner notes solicit correspondence with the query: "Like those bands? Maybe one… Continue

I need to write a blog totally marginalizing vinyl. I'll get to work on that ;) Seriously, good piece. I need to find my way back to vinyl - I need to convince my wife to let me set up the turntable in the living room again.

My family still had 78's and a record player that would play 'em when I grew up in the '50's. My father had big band, Beethoven, country, all kind of things. My mother worked at the RCA plant that made records in Indianapolis, when she left to have…

I've had a vinyl influence since I was alive. I am grateful my father had a record player and that he would actually use it. I think there is something unique in a medium that takes so much to slow down and truly appreciate it for what it's worth. W…

I know, I'm on some sort of nostalgia trip these days while running a Web agency. Everything balances out. That's kinda my point. As we go further into the digital realm we have the increased need for a tactile experience.
