About Me
The Mousetrap is one of Indy's oldest north side watering holes. Since 1957 we've been slinging strong drinks and serving up great food. In the early 70's we began serving our famous beef stew and the same people come back time after time for another super hot helping. In 2002, I bought the Mousetrap and gave the old place quite an overhaul. We added lots of TVs, a huge 120" Hi-def big screen, new windows, carpet and an overall make-over. The stew was brought back to it's original recipe and the rest of the menu was revamped. We now offer a huge menu of pub fare, burgers and pizza, as well as homemade daily specials such as Kandas famous meatloaf and Karrus' homemade soups. With 5 pool tables, video games, dart boards and dozens of board games, there is always something to do. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we even have a "Cash Payout Poker tourney". Most importantly, we brought in live original music. Concentrating on jam bands, we have played host to numerous up and coming bands from around the midwest, as well as many that are already very well established. Though considered small (a couple hundred +), the place has a vibe and soul that's electric. Bands can't wait to come back and there are always more fans to greet them at their next show. Every Wednesday Adam Catron of The Twin Cats hosts a Family Jam featuring some of the most accomplished musicians in the city. Every Friday and Saturday we have the best music in the city, and it's free! The word is out! Come see for yourself. Check out our calender for what is coming up.

I need to write a blog totally marginalizing vinyl. I'll get to work on that ;) Seriously, good piece. I need to find my way back to vinyl - I need to convince my wife to let me set up the turntable in the living room again.

My family still had 78's and a record player that would play 'em when I grew up in the '50's. My father had big band, Beethoven, country, all kind of things. My mother worked at the RCA plant that made records in Indianapolis, when she left to have…

I've had a vinyl influence since I was alive. I am grateful my father had a record player and that he would actually use it. I think there is something unique in a medium that takes so much to slow down and truly appreciate it for what it's worth. W…

I know, I'm on some sort of nostalgia trip these days while running a Web agency. Everything balances out. That's kinda my point. As we go further into the digital realm we have the increased need for a tactile experience.
