About Me
Bloomington is my hometown. With a couple years overseas, I lived there from 1976 until 1990. Since 1990, I have lived in Seattle, which actually means I have lived in Seattle longer than I did Bloomington. If you were interested in punk rock in Indiana, especially in Bloomington or Indy, between 1983 and 1988 or so, I probably made an effort to get to know you. I have been blogging since 2002 at mike.whybark.com, and maintain a raft of subsidiary sites, some of which may be of interest to MFT people.

I learned about the MFT project from Jeb just as they were launching it several years ago - I think Jeb found an archive of some Bloomington music I host at mp3.whybark.com and emailed me about the software I was using to present the archive.
What bands are you or have you been in?
BLOOMINGTON:
Modock, bass (1988-1989), modock.whybark.com, with Mike Hurtt, Matt Uhlmann, and Dave Cruse
The Vortex, bass (1990), with Mike Goss, Steve Bouton, and Tim Hommey. We only played one show.

SEATTLE
Fat Mona, bass, (1992-1993) - Tod Collins, Odin Bettinger, Jim Thompson
The Bareknuckle Boxers, bkb.whybark.com, mandolin, (1996-2000 +/-) - Odin Bettinger, Karel Trubac, Karl Kill, Chelle Wagner, Will Hollauer, Greg Brotherton, Lance Biggs, Barry Semple, Blake Carter, Sean Kearney, and more folks after I left.
What city are you from?

New Tim Carroll

This just in my mailbox from Gulcher (note the copy credit at the end):

"Tim Carroll

LOOK OUT!

(Gulcher 616)

Tim Carroll cut his rock'n'roll teeth in the late 1970s, as rhythm guitarist for the Gizmos, Indiana's first punk band. After they disbanded in 1982, he spent several years fronting New York City's neo-honkytonk bar-rockers, the Blue Chieftains. Throughout his subsequent Nashville solo career, Tim has clung at least as tightly to…

It is "End of the Century - the Story of the Ramones," a 1.5 h doc released in 2003, after both Joey and Dee Dee died but before Johnny did. I. Addition to the dear departed, there is extensive material from Arturo Vega, Danny Fields, and Seymour Stein, among others.

This image floated by on found and I thought certain persons hereabouts would dig it.

Can't use the fancy image-embed controls from an iPad. My Hoosier roots remind me that it is a just punishment for using an uppity device.

Interesting...That exhibit was curated by Adam Parfrey. He's the head of Feral House publishing. They publish some of my favorite books!

"I lived with a guy in Bton (well, he just sorta would hang out at the house all the time, like, ALL THE TIME) who was both mentally I'll and an acid casualty, and he would fill notebook after notebook with his ravings about how God had cursed him because he refused to let Jesus fuck him in the ass."

Yep, those links worked.

He worked at Harmonix before I cam on board, but I know of him through our art director, who told me about him.

Interesting story.

He came in to visit once, I think...

Mike, thanks so much for sending that! What a crazy batch of data! Anything containing a map of rat bitten babies and dispersal of zombified human post-nuclear dwelling is always welcome information to me.

Hope your holidays are and have been ass-kicking!
