Gee Rick, the longest and argueably, the most fun, two and half years of my life. Does this mean l get to relive everything, like a five year Iggy and the Stooges reunion?

Cheers, Jim

Hey Rick, good to hear from you. Checked out some of your art--very cool. What was that really cool song you wrote just before you went back to VT? It was kind of glam rock with a real cool turnaround.
I'm in Portland OR, married to Tara (who you may remember) and recently picked my bass back up after 20 years.
Hope you're well.

Hey Rick, I've been taking care of that Screaming Dogs tape since Dano sold me his Tascam reel-to-reel machine in February of 1984.... was great time warp pulling off all those gems from the tape. Some of the songs were only recorded on one track and had a horrible 50 hz hum... but I think I managed to clean it up pretty well.

I'd LOVE to hear stories from you about any memories you have doing those recordings. The machine was in Dano's basement when I visited there in February 1984. Bought the machine from him and he threw the tape in with the deal.... though I had to throw in my Memory Man analog chorus / delay.

Any details you can send me about equipment used in the sessions, who was there playing etc.... I think parts of this tape simply MUST be included in the MFT permanent archives. Got any photos from that era?

It appears there were two different sessions, btw. Audio on the first credits the engineer of the first session as "Dean Phillip Atkins." (very nice of somebody to include that reference).

Still trying to figure out exactly when these songs were recorded. Must be no later than February 1984. Wondering if some of it could be from late 1983.

Also, any idea about the proper song title for the instrumental that I've labeled as "Tough Enough To Be Your Dog" ?

Nice to see you in here!

I took a closer look at the box for the Gizmos tape. Apparently from a Public Library simulcast, with MX-80 and Loner. I must have most of it on a cassette, the reel is marked as overflow, studio break music and a bridge between the sides of the cas…

a random Gizmos thing, huh? I would very very much like to hear it! Hey, weren't you involved in the 'gagage band' video shoot right before they split town? I capped it and made a DVD if you want one. March of 79 would indeed have been during my fi…

Wow missed this thread Mike-sorry I didn't answer--I don't remember Zo's Motorcycle story. He talked about 'Nam a little but never really went into details other than to say that it was one of the reasons he couldn't stand living in the White man's…

I had to go look on the tapes to check that. Luckily I'm at least organized enough to be able to find them easily, having all my tapes in the same corner of the basement. That was March 1979. I also found a few tapes from the last day that the stud…

You know who you are, come out and be counted! Did you spend countless nights at Second Story? Did you eat at Rockits? Can you barely remember the 1990s?
