"Big on #7 and #10. Both have the wood grain thing going on, which is fun. #10 will need to factor in an opportunity to spell out "musical family tree" for those unaware."

Band of the Month - Slothpop

Slothpop just may be the most original band active in Indiana in 2011.  There, I said it.  That may be a bold statement, but after listening to their self titled debut record for a few weeks now, I'm confident the statement is accurate.

MFT Mixtape - Favorite Songs of 2010

That's right folks...

Band of the Month - Liz Janes

Liz Janes has quite a national pedigree for a local artist. She's played in handfulls of supremely artistic bands such as the Black Heart Procession, Toro Sec Toro and Create(!), collaborated with prolific songwriters such as Sufjan Stevens, Castanets and My Brightest Diamond and even backed the legendary recluse Jandek in a live performance. Hey Dan. How are things going with you? It sounds like things are going well for the Deadbeats. That is really cool. We should catch up sometime soon (when you are back in town).

I finally got a chance to listen to the new Deadbeats CD. It's incredible. I recognize a lot of the songs from the show last weekend. I'm going out of town for a week and this CD will be travelling with me to listen to. Great, great job on the music.
