a little late here, I know, but I was inspired by my similarities to Amber Uhlurt's list. here ya go:
in order, more or less:
Fall, The - Imperial Wax Solvent (their best in many years)
Gas - Nah Und Fern (a reissue, but what the hell)
Nurse With Wound - Huffin' Rag Blues ("Black Teeth" = song of the year)
Indian Jewelry - Free Gold! (this record is amazing, my fave new band in a few years)
Fotheringay - 2 (not exactly a reissue, but old - and… Continue

"Jagjaguwar Welcomes DINOSAUR JR. To The Family
We're elated to announce that DINOSAUR JR has signed with Jagjaguwar.
Its not often that the shiny reveries of our younger, more formative years get to coincide with the psyche of our professional lives. Let's call it castle building, start making plans for a new tower, muse on it in our quieter moments, then move on. WE'RE STOKED!"
How cool to have Dinosaur Jr on an Indiana label and a cool… Continue

Ok I haven't been able to take my itunes off repeat for hours. The Strings Of Nashville is creating a masterpiece under my finger tips. Has this ever happened to you? Music inspires me to write. Which soundtracks do you consider life changing? Or all inspiring?
Currently having a Pavement relapse. It's been years since I have allowed the music to do the writing. Does anybody know if The Strings Of Nashville has ever been used in a movie? I would never went to steal the thunder of… Continue

so it's been 10 days or so getting a new (used) one in place. my address books got lost, too, but with the whitelist on my email address, i can just download most of my important contacts from my isp. which i haven't done yet, 'cause i'm lazy.

Life has been busy for me lately and I feel like I've neglected this beloved little site. I thought I'd give you guys an update on things MFT related.
We are still finishing out the band access. We got a little sidetracked with a fun project we are finishing up- check it out at www.recordgeeks.com. It will be a cool vinyl review site when it is done. Or plan is to quickly return to band access to the archive which has been a priority forever… Continue
OK, I am sitting at an Internet café in Peru. I’m bored and I have all day. Seems like a perfect time to reactivate my “memories of Bloomington series.” As you may recall, when I left off last time I was standing with Mike Whybark on the porch of a new rental he had on the corner of Harold and Alice streets. He told me there was a party that night and that I should come by. It was the week before classes started, so probably late August.
At the party that night I met two rad girls… Continue

Okay, so I decided to do my top forty favorite albums. Feel free to comment or to make your own list. It is not necessarily in rank order although it is pretty close.
I spent about a week really thinking about this and as I finalized the list it occurred to me that the Beatles don't show up anywhere on this list. However, my love of music began for real when my brother Mark gave me my first Beatles record for Christmas in the 6th grade. The Beatles in some way find their way in to all of… Continue
As the week soon rolled by,things became a tighter squeeze in Simon`s tight bedsit room as he was putting up the Australians again. To relieve some space,we all headed down to Hampton Court which is a Stately Home on Simon`s doorstep with plenty of park land to goof around & play football (Soccer). Just for fun,we played football with a rugby ball which more or less the same as a American grid iron football. Around this time,Simon asked if me or Karl had ever even been to… Continue
My buddy Keith Morris is a flim maker in NYC/Orlando but originally from Indiana (cool film by Keith called Gutter King is coming out soon with music by MFT bands featured, more on that later). Anyway, he was able to film Otis at a house concert with his fancy RED Camera which is super amazing from what I have read online. So these are the videos, they look and sound great. Really the audio is as quality as the video to my… Continue
I am just getting started on my recent quest to reach as many people as possible. In the past, my focus has been making music, writing lyrics, and grassroots accomplishments. Lately, things have been growing and developing on a larger scale.
I have been spending a lot of time on the computer, researching and joining and meeting and greeting and learning how much I don't know yet! Everything is very exciting at this point - I am stoked to do work!
