It was '83 I believe.. Mark and Bill and I had honed our obnoxious to a fine science. There was a live radio show for QAX. It was up stairs on Kirkwood on the square. At that time it was a dumpy area full of cheap nasty apartments. Rat Rondell lived down the block above where JL Waters us to be... I think the band that only played that night's name was 'Volunteer Mercenaries for Bob' and if I get my facts wrong someone please correct me. The people I remember were Seth Spicker on guitar, Don… Continue

Rockits was a rock and roll pizza joint. I worked there circa 93? After graduating college.. Since the economy kinda sucked at the time I had to save $$ to buy a shitty car so I could move to the extended strip mall of Indy-a-no-place to get me one of them there dreaded 'real jobs'. I needed some chill time after college anyway.. and working at Rockits was great. Mrs B. - love her - was like a surrogate mom to me. I remember when I started working there - unlike most guys there I actually… Continue

They said it was real horse blood from a slaughter house. We the guitar player about him about his signed Gene Simmons…

Interesting how so many US punks and musicians (at least that I know) hold the Cuban system, Che, and Castro in high esteem. I guess they don't feel the same in Cuba. I'm glad we live in a place, imperfect as it may be at times, where we can sing about whatever we want, write whatever we want and participate in forums like MFT without being dragged away by the police.

David, tell the story about that time that the Rolling Stones wanted to open for you incognito.
Ah yes. Thanks, Steve. My hypnotist and I have been mining these "recovered memories," and the Rolling Stones episode certainly bears recounting.
Jesus, what a complete bunch of twats. Their manager set it up, and the idea was that the Stones would open up for Yellow Rain at Ricky's, as he said, "in cognito." The idea was, these already ancient brits would come in disguise, pass… Continue
