Spreading Indiana Music

So far this site has been a total riot. Nostalgia extreme.

A couple things: anybody here have any links to John Rans, Jeff Weiss, or any of the No Bar crew? John's son Ian has an insane show on Minneapolis public television called "Drinking With Ian" (check it out on MySpace; it slays me). He also has a site cataloguing the Bob Chaos tapes, including the absolutely essential Latent Chaos chronicles: . I've often talked with Tony Woollard about doing an archeology of the No Bar, but like a bajillion other things we discuss over an iced glass of whiskey, it remains on the "to do" list. The Muncie scene at the end of the '80's was amazing.

What about Dow Jones and the Industrials?

And, what about things happening right now? I'm old and out of the loop, but there are two really interesting current labels in Indiana (Secretly Canadian out of Bloomington, and Family Vineyard out of Lafayette). If anybody could link this site up to folks like those, that would be cool. I've had enough class reunions in my life . . . time to get with the now.

So did anyone post any kind of list of shows from the No Bar? I remember making the 2 hour drive to Muncie for some really great shows at the time but circumstances make it a ll pretty cloudy. Really cool spot though, no doubt.

Rita is aways a wonderful person. I still have a beautiful green brocade dress lined at the sleeves with mink, for holidays now, a Jackie O. suit in silk, and a fab red dress. Rita always was great for long gloves... so were the consignment stores, to go to parties. Loved long cigarette holders. Ben Minkler was the Cloves freak.. I display his "Phones Don't Float" in my home. Miss a lot of people, but Ron S. called today from Czech. He made my day!

That image (Ball Fuckin' State) was later re-used by Biff Danger (now Janie Danger) and I when we went on our ill fated "Spring Break from Hell '87" road trip... we hand cut a screen (probably Architect Dwayne Mann's 'original' design) and had dreams of selling, like, 200 of those shirts to drunks at Spring Break in Daytona and Ft. Lauderdale... needless to say I think we sold 10... and that's being generous...

Dwayne Mann (drummer in Band-o-Fun) and I hand screened the Ball Fuckin State and Ball U tshirts in a pathetic attempt to supplement our non-existent income. The Ball U cartoon was stolen from some issue of Playboy.

Bob O'Bannon is now a minister in Yorktown, the uppity suburb of Muncie.

So when do we get the faux Faux-ker? Then all we would need is for Ed Emmer to re-obfuscate the whole situation for us.

Faux-Coker... or as Celester coined "Faux-ker" isn't funny... give me classic (real) Coker...

Gotta be a fake. The real Coker nested in my living room for several year. You kind of get to know a guy when he's squating in your place and this is not the guy.
