Classic Doc Martens discontinued...? (end 2008)

To anyone who loves Doc Martens—I think the company is discontinuing some of their classic lines of shoes.

I can't vouch for this 100% but
1.) when I went to a store to get new ones, they said they were sold out of the old models and weren't getting any replacements.
2.) the classic models seem to be on sale everywhere online (more about that later)
3.) some web pages are specifically listing them as discontinued.
The collage of shoes above I made from the following two web sites (which I cannot personally vouch for):
onlineshoes.com (look for the After Holiday Sale, which includes an extra discount if you enter the code during checkout)
and
heelandsoleshoes.com
I did order a pair from one of them but haven't gotten the shoes yet so I can't vouch for either company, since I've had no complete experience with either. But, if they are legit companies, and if these lines are being discontinued, then
1.) if you like these shoes you might have to get some before they disappear, and
2.) they're much cheaper than usual, either way.
I hope this notice has not been an annoyance but I thought there might be some Docs fans out there in MFT land who would want to know before they're all gone (again, if what I'm hearing is true)—the newer models look more like hiking boots than classic Docs, if you were curious what the new lines are like.
Anyone who has more complete information should feel free to post comments.

Ian Brewer: too punk for Docs

Ian--I've found that they do fit if I slip in inserts (usually having the trim the inserts with scissors)... Otherwise they're too loos on my feet.

I've always wanted a pair, but was never able to find any that fit. I guess I'm forever stuck with my paratrooper boots.
