http://www.celestialmonochord.org/2010/02/gennett-records-and-richm...The Celestial Monochord is an amazingly comprehensive attempt to understand, document, and tie together a great deal of information taking as its' starting point the crucial
Anthology of American Folk Music.
Jon Nelson, also an MFT member, pays closer attention to the ringing of the Monochord than I do, and today, he passed on the link above. The curator of the Monochord (whom I take, obviously, to be an incarnation of God) decided to take the task of cross-border Midwestern tourist pilgrimage on himself and dropped in on Richmond "to understand why the town hadn't preserved the Gennett Record Company’s
recording studio when it had the chance."
Anyway, I wanted to pass this on, hope y'all on the homefront read it, and to further hope more of you'uns will start reading and listening.
