Hello, MFT community! We're happy to announce that the time has finally come to relocate the Musical Family Tree blog to the main MFT site, over at musicalfamilytree.com.
For several years, the blog and community have been hosted here on a Ning platform, but we have been working for the last few months on moving all the blog content over to our main site in order to offer you, our community, a more seamless online experience.
So you can now more easily listen to the archive at the same time as you browse and read blog content - and with all the great blog posts, videos, and other content we're planning, we're hoping you'll be stopping by more frequently. Head over to the new blog to check it out.
Why should this matter to you?
The Ning site will remain live through the end of March, but we will no longer moderate it, manage it, or link to it from the main site.
While we do plan to build some sort of archive of everything currently hosted at musicalfamilytree.net (the site you're on right now), all current and past members of the MFT community should be sure to save any assets they want to keep digitally. This includes pictures, blog posts, or any other content you have published to this site as a member of the Ning community. These materials will be preserved somewhere, but this site will go down around the end of March.
I will say it again: before April 2014, please make sure to remove or preserve anything you want to save from this site. We cannot guarantee that all materials will successfully make the transition when we archive them, so at least part of the responsibility for those materials will be on you, the person who originally added them to this site.
Meanwhile, please enjoy using the new blog, and be sure to email email@example.com with any questions. Going forward, the blog will largely be curated by MFT staff and volunteers, but we welcome any substantial, non-self-promotional, non-spammy content.
You will need to reset your password in order to keep your current community account active, OR you can login to the new blog using Facebook, OR you can simply create a new account.
Thanks for being part of MFT! We look forward to serving you and promoting Indiana's great music scene for many years to come.
