Back at ya. I just talked to my brother Ed, and he said he'd love to get in touch with you. He's actually in Portland right now! His daughter Emily and her boyfriend live there. I mentioned to Ed that you had just seen Little Feat there, so you couldn't be too far away. I think he's flying back to San Diego in the morning, (Monday) Here's his email c.eastwood1@cox.net He said to give you his cell#, but I'm thinking this isn't the best forum to leave it. You can call me at 812 327 1818 and I'll give you his if you want to try and catch him before he leaves Portland. Otherwise, you can email him.

Thanks for the tag back!

Hey John,

Listened to the 6 songs on myspace...left a comment there as well. You sound fab...the years have been kind to your voice. I knew you must be playing still, and was really curious to hear what you are doing now. Love the tunes! When will your CD come out, and how do I find it?

All is well in Btown. I love that people take music seriously here. I've met some really interesting folks who, like me, have found that music remains the constant in their lives. So much good music out there...it's just amazing to get to hear such a diverse selection in this town! Took my daughter to see Little Feat at the Buskirk a few years ago, and got to chat with Kenny and the boys. ;-) Made my day!

If you and yours are ever back in Bloomington, please say hello! Do you take your one man show on the road?
Take care of you, and stay tuned! ;-)

Keith - as I get some time freed up I plan to mix these big 1/4" reel-to-reel tapes that Jim Whitney recorded at Monday's Blues .... he even recorded the last "Exploding Carrot Gig". I would like to get the best of the best onto CDs before they turn to dust. When I do I will certainly make sure you get a copy. Remember singing harmony on "Publicity Stunt" by Bob Lucas, who was from Bloomington. I found my old vinyl of the album ... still think of you whenever I hear that song.

I have tinitus in both ears and the middle finger on both hands have begun to curve from Arthritus but I fight on. I sang lead vocals and only played Bass on a couple songs with Ruffian. We opened up for Fath Band years ago in Indy . What a trip. Can you get me a cassette or CD from the last tapeing of Bandanna? I honestly think I play Bass better than I ever did and its largely due to you encouragement and friendship.

John, you may remember me - TC (Tim Craig) from the Flint days. I was living with Keith Jolly and Tim Flanagan in Lafayette for awhile. I was just listening to Jack Bruce's Harmony Row (what song writing!) and started thinking about Tim F - who introduced me to that music - and tried a search that led me you your page on this site. Do you by any chance know how one might get ahold of Tim? Pls let me know if you do.

Hope life's treatin' you good!

OK dude,
I discovered a very poor quality casette tape recording from the Reddog saloon in Bloomington, August 74, last performance....
Uploaded 4 songs, of 18 total. Worth a listen for nostalgia.

Oh, I forgot. You wouldn't believe the local music scene. Bigger than Bloomington, although we don't have a bar like the Bluebird that regularly brings in national talent. Lafayette even started an annual music awards show. At the time of this year's awards they said there were 134 bands and 27(?) venues in Laf. We even have a weekly cable show that got picked up by Comcast. It's also web cast - http://www.midwestnightsinfo.com/index.html

I think you mentioned me. That's how I found out about the site. Someone came up to me and said 'I saw your name all over some website.' A couple other missing names - Rafterafter - the band you Dale & Tim were in that I saw play in the Union and said 'I have GOT to get in a band with these guys.' I think the drummer was Lenny somebody.

Checked out your MySpace. Are you full-time musician or playing in addition to a regular job? I quit playing after Flint then started again about 5 years ago. Just for fun. If you want to kill 5 minutes you can always try www.myspace.com/bassnightwithOttO I really need to finish it some day. The second play is the 1st part of a multi-part story. I don't know the first thing about recording and apparently not a whole lot more about playing.

Too bad about Tim's problems. I ran into his brother in Missouri and then Tim a little later.

John,

I've been looking for you for years!

You left Les Rainey off your list. His father still lives in the same house we used for practice as Flint.

Monday's Blues is now Jerilee's. Still the same smokey place tied to the bowling alley in Market Square, although the new smoking ordinance is turning it non-smoking. They cater mostly to Metal bands these days. Amanda Overmeyer of 2008 American Idol fame (I know but if you live here you couldn't avoid it) had a New Year's Eve party there.

Please get back with me.

I'm all for MFT and the artists both making some money whether it's NP or not. I'm glad there is another way of getting us out there. If I would have sold an album in the 80s, I remember most little labels and artists would be happy to sell their t…

PJ- I thought of that too! I could use a new Ping hat. We aren't too far down the road of the NP thing to turn back. But John is right, if we can find a way to funnel money to artists then I'm all about having MFT make some of that transaction. It…

I tried to watch 100 Ways but I could feel my life force draining. Haven't the Japanese made some horror films about this video?
