Mike. You are wonderful! I got the second message too. Thanks. And a big hug for being so responsible.

Hi Mike, Thanks for the message! I don't have FB...but I know Joey's having trouble on this site too. Firefox is working as a browser for now, and I'm sure the issues will be resolved soon. Thanks!

You are a National Treasure.
Indeed the band listened to the song at rehearsel and we will be playing the song at the show 8/1/2009 Uncle Festers.
Thank you!

I remember printing some shirts for Steve in the 80's that had a picture of mickey mouse and donald duck and read, "There is no death in Disneyland, they export it!"
I'm still not sure what those shirts meant, but he was sure excited about them.

I'm using the running mole from his business cards. I did a rough mock-up of it this morning and will finish it when I get back to town.
It is one of those 3:00 in the morning ideas; I saw the shirt in a dream and want one in real life.
What I'm really jonesing for now is a CCAA shirt. Maybe a fake CCAA meeting poster to post around, complete with fake dates and meeting places. We could all put them up on the same day, all of us in different cities. "Fake Posters across America". Steve would like that, or he would make fun of us, I'm not sure...

I have a half dozen photos uploaded from it on my facebook page, under Nga. It didn't go as well as the Washington State History Museum show, I think. She was nervous, and, for the first half of the performance, the master's pre-amp/microphone was distorting out of control. I now have two new job descriptions, group photographer, and guy who tells the sound guy to fix the distortion.

Mike, thank you for accepting my invitation to dinner. It was really nice to see you again. Wow. How long it's been. Is that a story I see you posting up there?

It's pretty wild that all these Hoosiers burrow into the woodwork of our weird society. I always say "Indiana's a great place to leave."

Chusid, as you probably already know, is an interesting cat. He was responsible for the Esquivel reissues that came out a while back, as producer. He's also had his hand in a lot of the "Exotica" reissues, during that early 90's resurgence. He also does a weekly show on WFMU that you can listen to on their archives (at least he used to. I haven't checked in a couple of years). The Songs In The Key Of Z companion cd is well worth grabbing, too, even though you probably have music by a lot of the better known "artists" on there. The crazier shit on there is a hoot; Shooby "The Human Horn" Taylor, Congress-Woman Malinda Jackson Parker and the Joe Meek demo are worth the price of admission, alone.

Also, off topic...I've really been digging the Bob Dylan Radio Theme Time Hour (which I never heard during it's initial airing). Check it:

Peace be with you.

Thanks Mike;

Your efforts to get Caleb some writing contracts made a difference for him. He had told me this story and was appreciative.

Are you still in the Seattle area? And a burner too?

I hope you read all the posts on BM Tribe, there were some nasty unfounded rumours flying about which I was eventually able to correct.

Also sorry for all of Caleb's friends, like you, who knew him much longer than I. This is really a tragic loss of great potential but I think Caleb must have been tired of the demons.

I'm not an encyclopedia of musical knowledge, but the band reminds me just a bit of The Clash.

Mike, that is a great idea. I would love to have a beer with you. I have to warn you though, I'm so lazy that, except in my apartment at night, I always seem to wear a suit an tie. Please don't mind this. Consider it a reflection of laziness on my part. Say, I have a client for whom I got a green card. He was a professional bass player in London five years ago and had a recording contract. The band broke apart before the album came out. Some of the music is out of this world amazingly good. If I got his permission to upload it here at Musical Family Tree, could you show me how?

Hi Mike.
Did you pick up the book or the cd? Shit, I didn't remember the Philputt reference! Good catch!
Hope you're well, friend.

I'm all for MFT and the artists both making some money whether it's NP or not. I'm glad there is another way of getting us out there. If I would have sold an album in the 80s, I remember most little labels and artists would be happy to sell their t…

PJ- I thought of that too! I could use a new Ping hat. We aren't too far down the road of the NP thing to turn back. But John is right, if we can find a way to funnel money to artists then I'm all about having MFT make some of that transaction. It…
