General Bob Was A Better Man Than You. I Do Not Believe You Have The Right to Breathe His Name Much Less Ridicule Him As You have...

I must say that I'm not the person to write of General Bob. I did not know him well enough. He was however a closer friend to Jeff Holiday a long time and current friend who I shared an Apartment with on Queen St. Many of you will recall the Rock that that house could not contain! The Apartment wasn't much Two tiny bedrooms a living room slash/kitchen and through the spacious : "Rock Room" was our sumptuous bathroom. I recall soaking my alcohol sodden liver there many an afternoon. Jeff was fr… Continue

Music Influences The Early Days Part II

Writing about my development should naturally include interactions with others. Unfortunately I don’t feel it’s my job to expose the weaknesses or the changes that others went through. I’ll try to speak anonymously when I can and not to concentrate on their negativities. After all they may want to speak of such on their own.. While in early middle school I spent much time in hospital trying to diagnose chronic nausea and abdominal pains etc. With this and ‘accidents’ I managed to spend every ma… Continue

If you want to get a better idea of who I am and where I live you can look at a smattering of images that I have on Picasa. I think that pretty much covers most of the elements I call home. Now this isn't mandatory kids so don't hurt yourselves fumbling for the link. http://picasaweb.google.com/MissAgentGirl

In case you were wondering about the Ads on the site

In an attempt to actually gather some funds and pay some bills we are trying out some advertising on MFT. I tried Ad Brite but wasn't happy with the ads or the results. We are now trying BlogAds on a good friend's recommendation and hope that this will bring quality ads and revenue to the site. Bottom line is that we need to start getting some kind of income from this project in order to fund the additional development we have planned. So I wanted to let everyone know that we will be experiment… Continue

A "General" Bob in the days of 'Reaction'

Reaction/Mod-X guitarist Ron Synovitz (or Syno as Linda B. would call him) sparked a memory in a recent letter. He mentioned a "hippy" friend of Mitch Straeffer named "Bob." I have select memories of a guy who was nicknamed "General" Bob... a warbly voiced guy with kinda long "Blues Magoos" hair and glasses that looked like they were cut from the bottom of Coca-Cola bottles they were so thick... Kinda gave him large "owl" eyes... Mitch hung out with "General" Bob and, from all accounts, the "Ge… Continue

Robert Meitus' Entertainment Law Practice Featured in the IBJ

Our buddy Robert Meitus, a member of MFT and a long standing member of the Indiana music scene, was recently featured in the Indianapolis Business Journal. The article details his musical past and how he got into entertainment law. I have been in regular discussions with Robert concerning some different projects and I can vouch that he is a great guy with a sharp mind for the entertainment industry. Looks like he is looking to expand his practice...paging Mr. Strohm!… Continue

3,000,000,000 12-inch singles!

I stopped by the DAV thrift store in the Irvington Plaza, just a wee bit East of Arlington on Washington, earlier today. About 10 years ago or so this was the best place to find LPs; I found stuff like 13th Floor Elevators and rare Jazz and odd German pressings of 70s prog records, all for .45 cents and would find great stuff at least twice a week. It has been dead for quite a while and I never stop anymore. Maybe a year ago I found a nice mono copy of the first Fugs LP and a month back I found… Continue
