I don't know whether or not to be relieved that your friends will be soon jobless, but based on timing and events, I might well be. If they were part of what has gone on the last eight years, they've certainly earned it and may hopefully gain some much needed empathetic skills from the experience of unemployment.

As far as the rates go for renting places during the inauguration, I suspect that most of the people going and not staying at Motel 6 can afford it. You charge what the market can bear, at least that's the way rent works around here.
