Freda returned from her macrobiotic retreat shortly before Hideout's release. She’d adopted a macrobiotic diet, and she taught Jake how to follow the principles of the diet as well – including not eating any dairy whatsoever. There’s nothing worse about being in a band than being cooped up in a van for months with people you can’t stand to be around. It’s just an awful way to live.
