Guitar, Bass, Drums
About Me
Born in Indianapolis. Have lived in Jacksonville (FL), New York City, Huntington Beach and Berkeley. Currently back in Indy playing with the recently reformed Slammies
What bands are you or have you been in?
These are in some chronological order, the best that I can remember. Some of the years are probably off by one or two. Life seems to blaze by in a big haze sometimes. I played drums in all but Poison Center (bass). All were Indiana based except for PigPen who were based in New York, even though we were all from Indiana.

Poison Center (1982 - 1983)
The Slammies (1988 - 1991, 2007 - Present)
Pig Pen (1991 - 1993)
Edgar Strange (1993 - 1994)
The Tea Bags (1994)
Dutch 45 (1994 - 1998)
SuperFatFlyBoy (1996)
Drunko (2001 - 2004, 2006 - 2007)
The Mighty John Waynes (2001 - 2002)
The Jabs (2002) [fill-in while Andy Fark recovered from a broken collar bone]
The Retreads (2002 - 2004)
Ass Cobra (2001 - ???)
Hot Damn! (2002 - Present)
What city are you from?

Memorial

I've really had a hard time putting this into words. As I've grown older, the frequency in which I see my childhood friends has become significantly less. I have lived back in Indianapolis for 7 years now and had gone the first 6-1/2 of those without seeing Sean, aside from random bumping intos. I do feel fortunate that we were able to hang out a few times within the last few months. Once, he came to see The Slammies play at The Mel, and again at The Zero Boys show at Radio Radio... He also help… Continue

Part Five: My career as an engineer, Marvin P, Strippers and Pere Ubu (1985)

I actually wrote this a few weeks ago.. pressed send and got some sort of error. My first instinct today is to write the whole thing in MS-Word and then copy/paste it over here.... I had spent my senior year trying to figure out what I was going to do with the rest of my life... well.. maybe that's not true.. maybe I just didn't care. I really can't remember what I was thinking. I took a bunch of college level courses during my last year at Carmel. Scored really high on my SATs.. and began gett… Continue

Part Four: Backtracking

I had planned on covering years 85-87 in this post, but first I must backtrack. Aside from Hitler, I haven't talked much about my step fathers. Since I didn't have much respect for any of them and I knew that each one would be around for a shorter period of time than the previous, most were just background for the movie of my adolescence. But all of them, unbeknown to me had small impacts on my life.. OK.. that may be stretching it. My first step father was around from age 3 til about age 8. H… Continue

Part Three: I Did Live In Bloomington For A Week

In the winter of 84/85, I got in a huge fight with my step-dad. All of my friends called this guy Hitler. In part because of this ridiculous mustache that he had... and in part because he was an asshole. I had twenty or thirty bucks on me. I didn't have my license but had known how to drive since I was 12. In the middle of the night, I grabbed the keys and took off in Hitler's baby blue Ford LTD heading for the only place I knew how to get to, Bloomington. I got there late and pulled into the Tr… Continue

Steve, I've been very well - was a co-partner at the nobar in muncie till 1987 then moved back to Minneapolis where i've been active (art/music/life) ever since... I'm still in very close touch with Robert Brian Smith still (they are on their 2nd child, living in Chicago IL) and saw Kellermeyer and Ozlins at his wedding about a decade ago...
Cheers mate!

If you were friends with the "Split Infinity" camp (Brian, Robert and Jim) there was a good chance we (together) got pushed in a pool in a backyard rock show... I also remember an apartment party or two in Carmel during the winter... How'R You Steve!?! (Mike "Suade" Newell, Minneapolis)
