I just kind of hang out with my kids now in Portland. I teach art to children ages 1-5. I used to work (for 100 years) at the Runcible Spoon. Went to a lot of shows in the 90's. Took a lot of pictures. Played pool a lot at the Video. Lived in the Allen building, twice, in the old radio studio. Got evicted, and sued, for not paying the last month when they gentrified (and ruined) the apartments. Currently trying to figure out how I can live on the San Juan Islands, preferably Orcas Island.

I miss Bloomington for the thunderstorms, fireflies, and the yellowness of it all. My kids have never seen a firefly. Weird. However, what I miss the most is the sense of community.
good plan. Andy Mayer inherited his dad Tim's, which was pretty cool, if confusing to the teenage boys who observed the inheritance. Did that mean Tim was cool? But he was a dad! Heavens!
I'm not sure where that rug ended up. My dad sold the house on Woodlawn and left Bloomington in 1993 or 4. Now he lives part of the year in an apartment on the Upper West Side, part of the year at a condo in Berkeley, CA, and part of the year at his wife's place in Oxford, England. It's one of those three places; I'm thinking Berkeley. Next time I'll pay more attention.
Ah am unsuhprised to heah that Mr. Chesak's hair retains a youthful aspect. Don't tell anyone, but Viv has plenty of gray - I'm always after her to let it show, but she's never keen on the idea.
Tell Patrick I knew Gretchen (and Heidi too). Gretchen moved to Seattle in '92 and married a guy from Hungary sometime thereafter, around '95 I think.
Lorelie, While working at the Spoon, did you ever know Gretchen Baker? I don't remember when she left Bloomington. Prolly before your time (late 80s?).
Howdy Loralie! I sure have enjoyed looking at all of the pictures you've posted here. Thanks for that! I didn't actually live in the Allen Building, and I certainly didn't "work" there (at least not for their management!). It just was the only comfy place for me to flop when I was in town from my house in Brown County or when I was visiting after moving back to the Region. I still keep in touch with Jeff Lee and a few others from those years. I met Kelly B. for a beer not long ago, and we talked a bit about you. She's doing great with her family and school and all. Glad to hear that you're doing so well. Talk wit ya soon.
Hi Loralie:
Pleased to meet you. I have some good friends in Portland. Can't say if you could know them. They both went to BSU and they're names are Mike Walker and Chris Mesker. Mike was in Crankpin with me and had a band in Portland for a while called Big Dooley.
The Palace song "Christmastime in the Mountains" is from the 1994 EP "Hope." I don't have an mp3 of it right now, so I can't send it to you. But you should be able to find it pretty easily, I "Hope."
