Ed the Meat Poet is somewhat incognito right now--under fire from the powerful Vegetable Poets in the Bush administration--you may have luck contacting his tireless friend and agent. If the Meat Poet cannot always respond, he apologizes from his hidden basement lair.
Ed the Meat Poet first appeared in Bloomington, Indiana, in the late 1980's, ranting at such places as Culture Shock. While in Bloomington, he also performed with The Belgian Waffles! After leaving Bloomington in 1989, he did come back for a second Culture Shock performance. He made a brief appearance in a ROX-related documentary, Indiana Urinalysis (Urinal Folklore at Indiana University). Chelsea has provided this video footage of David Wade chatting with Ed the Meat poet in Bloomington.
He gave frequent performances in New York City during the 1990's at such venues as ABC No Rio, the Newyorican Poets Cafe, Theater Club Funambules, the Knitting Factory, and Nada.
He was last seen making a few brief appearances in Brooklyn in 2005 before having to submerge himself again...

That photo looks, for real, like a Siberian labor camp or something. And Wagner just standin' there. He was immune to cold. Delete Comment
